MARINERS BACK ON TRACK AT VILLAGERS

THIS was a vital win for Marine and one which left Ferriby more firmly entrenched at the bottom of the table.
The first-half was a scrappy affair with Ferriby having slightly the better of the game. They almost took the lead in the first minute through Jordan Windass but keeper Patrick Wharton saved just under the bar.
Wharton was the busier of the two keepers and made a very good save to deny Windass a second time, from a dipping free-kick. Even so, Marine offered little direct threat to the home goal in the first-half.
