TWO second-half goals gave Grantham victory over Matlock Town - but the real hero was at the other end of the pitch.
Matlock began the brighter and had the first effort on goal after six minutes but Jonathon Margetts’ shot was saved by Grantham keeper Sam Andrew.
Defences were generally on top, with chances at a premium.
Danny Brooks for Grantham had a 30-yard effort comfortably saved by Ross Durrant as Grantham pressed.
Matlock came back with Luke Hinsley miskicking and Greg Tempest had a shot saved by Andrew.
