WITH SO much at stake there was an electric atmosphere among the season’s best crowd of 943.
For third placed Town a win could earn a climb above South Shields, while Buxton essentially had to match Gainsborough’s result versus South Shields to keep the final play-off position.
As both teams had sound defensive records a goalfest was not expected, but they shared four in a fine advert for the league, despite the vile weather.
