TRAFFORD’S mini league recovery came to an end with a disappointing defeat at the hands of an impressive Widnes side.
Home keeper Matty Cooper made two early saves to thwart dangerman Ben Hodkinson who then blasted a 38th minute penalty well over the crossbar after an infringement in the penalty area.
The first half finished goalless but Widnes pushed for more after the break. James Steele squandered a great chance in the 55th minute but made amends seconds later with a back post header to break the deadlock.
