MARTIN MCINTOSH’S first game in charge of Grantham ended in defeat in their relegation scrap at Atherton Collieries.
Former Buxton boss McIntosh was appointed earlier this week in a bid to turn the Gingerbreads’ season around.
But early goals in each half from Louis Myers and Ben Conway were enough to give the Pinks the points and leave the visitors still looking for a first away league win this season.
Atherton remain in the bottom two but are now just a point behind Grantham with five games in hand.
