PRESCOT CABLES made hard work of their opening league game before eventually running out winners against Kendal Town.
Michael Monaghan opened the scoring as early as the sixth minute.
His curling shot was heading for the top corner from the second it left his right foot, giving the home side a well deserved lead at half-time.
But despite the flying start, Cables did not have it all their own way.
