■ RUNCORN’S two first half goals settled this Cheshire derby in favour of the home side.
They took the lead against the run of the play in the 24th minute when Lloyd Marsh-Hughes guided his header into the net.
They doubled their advantage just before halftime, Lewis Doyle blasting the ball through a packed area.
Rylands rallied after the break, but couldn’t find a way past a resolute outfit. Although they needed goalkeeper Joe Young to pull off several top class saves to claim the points.
