GRANTHAM’S long wait for a home win continues as they went down at the Meres to Atherton Collieries.
Atherton forced the first corner but Grantham went close when Ricky Miller’s cross just evaded a Gingerbreads forward.
Atherton began to control the game with Jim Pollard saving from Arran Smith. Grantham countered and Michael Williams drove wide.
Atherton took the lead on 18 minutes when Clive Smith’s cross was powerfully headed home by Luca Hansen.
