TEN-man Daventry Town held on to secure a much- -needed three points with a win over mid-table Spalding United.
Town took the lead on the half-hour thanks to an excellent finish from Joel Nketia, whose shot rocketed into the roof of the net from the edge of the penalty area.
James Martin made a superb point-blank save just before the break to deny the Tulips an equaliser.
Town increased their lead just after the break when Jeff Woodward flicked on debutant Lewis Burgess’s long throw.
