■ CLEETHORPES maintained their 100 per cent winning start to 2022 with a hard-fought victory against relegation threatened Pickering.
The home side got the boost of an early goal in the 10th minute. A fi rm cross from Luke Lofts was turned into his own net by the unlucky Jack Johnson.
After the interval, substitute Leon Dawson almost doubled the advantage, but his looping effort cannoned away to safety off the bar.
