The hosts dominated chances and possession in the opening half-hour and eventually took the lead after 32 minutes through Craig Baxter, the defender drilling the ball home.
Dunston’s lead was fleeting, Kieran Burton rising well above their defence to head in from a corner.
Tadcaster took the lead just before half-time. Breaking from from a Dunston corner Des Amponsah raced away and rounded the keeper to tap into an empty net.
