■ A SCRAPPY game burst into life in the final half hour, with Bootle just about deserving the points.
Trafford should have been ahead at half-time with Mike Burke and Sean Higgins squandering chances, but the visitors forged ahead on the hour when Jack McGowan volleyed home from 10 yards after Johnny McIlwaine had thwarted Tom Peterson.
Seven minutes later, Matty McDonald crashed a shot against the underside of the bar, before McDonald headed home the second.
