WITTON Albion could be forgiven for wondering what might have been after brushing aside Basford.
Had they prevailed at Warrington on Easter Monday, then this would have been a winnertakes-all battle for survival. Instead Carl Macauley’s men had to take consolation from ending a five-year stay in the Northern Premier League’s top flight with their biggest win since November 2018.
