AN outstanding defensive performance by Colne was enough to hold Runcorn Linnets to a goalless draw in their quest to win promotion.
In a first half of few chances, Linnets came close after 17 minutes when Ally Brown fired just over the Reds’ bar from a great chance.
But five minutes later Dean Ing blasted over the Linnets bar after Danny Edwards had opened up the home defence And Ing continued to threaten Runcorn in the second half with some good attacking runs.
