Home captain Matthew Woolley broke the deadlock with a beautifully hit curling free-kick which nestled in to the side netting, leaving Cooper with no chance.
The game was a scrappy affair with the majority of the battle being contested in midfield. 1874 extended their lead with ten minutes remaining, Fenton Green’s corner arrived at the back post to find Mark Jones who side-footed home.
