IN THE first compet- nitive ‘derby’ game between these two North Staffordshire sides it was Leek who came away with the local bragging rights after a comfortable victory.
The score was a little harsh on the visitors who hit the woodwork twice. The hosts led comfortably 2-0 at the break courtesy of goals from Tom Carr and Olly Harrison before Hanley deservedly pulled a goal back through Jake Avery after 76 minutes and then threatened to draw level.
