HANLEY TOWN protected a solitary firsthalf goal to take all three points from 1874 Northwich.
The opening goal came in the dying minutes of the first half, a hopeful pass found Louis Dodds unmarked at the back post who finished well in to the bottom corner.
1874 went about the second half with much more purpose than the first.
Matty Fenton had a powerful header cleared off the line and Josh Quarless came close twice but was denied by two good saves.
