NEWCASTLE Town were left to rue a plethora of missed chances as they slipped to a disappointing defeat to Ramsbottom Town at the Red Industries Stadium.
Newcastle had started brightly and arguably had the better of the first half, but could not create a definitive goalscoring chance.
Instead, it was the visitors who went into the break ahead as Ben Halfacre pounced on a defensive mistake to set up Anthony Donaldson for the opening goal.
