■ CITY OF LIVERPOOL fell to defeat at home to 1874 Northwich in a game of few clear-cut chances amid dreadful conditions.
The Purps could have gone ahead in the first half when a cross from Jack Hazlehurst was sliced across his own goal by Matthew Fenton and narrowly evaded Kevin Ellison who would have had a tap in.
