INJURY hit Lancaster City ended a run of four successive draws with a superb performance to defeat playoff chasing Matlock Town in a dramatic finale.
Both sides struggled in the first half to make an impression in front of goal.
Lancaster’s best chances fell to Brad Carsley, who shot straight at Saul Deeney after three minutes and who then headed a Sam Bailey cross wide just before half time. Matlock’s best opportunity was a free kick that Alex Byrne fired over the crossbar after 13 minutes.
