CARLTON Town slipped to second from bottom in the table with a home defeat against fellow strugglers Shildon.
Neither side created much in a tense first half. The visitors took the lead after 55 minutes when Dan Brown diverted a Joe Posthill cross into his own net.
Eight minutes later, Aiden Heywood cut out a Carlton attack with a handball. The referee ignored the Millers’ appeals and the Shildon captain surged down the right before crossing to Billy Greulich-Smith who duly converted.
