■ CONSETT edged a game of very few chances against Stocksbridge Park Steels.
Neither side were able to create much in the first half, though Scott Fenwick had two chances, one of which stabbed wide and one which was saved by Ben Townsend.
Consett got their goal in the second half when an initial effort was blocked by the defence and Calvin Smith was first on it to fire it into the back of the net.
