GRANTHAM took the points with a narrow win over North Shields in a game vital to both sides.
The game got off to an explosive start when North Shields’ Paul Van Zandvliet was sent off after just two minutes.
After a scrappy opening, Grantham came more into the game, but neither side could really create anything. Callum Larmouth just failed to get on the end of a couple of crosses and Mason Lee screwed his shot wide for Grantham, but the half ended goalless. Ashton Hall for Grantham brought an early save in the second half from Aaron Stevens.
