WITH new signing Jake Baxter starting up front there was a wave of optimism at Westfield under caretaker bosses Dave Powell and Tristan Rees.
The first half saw few chances with the best seeing former Field keeper Gary Ross at full stretch to deny Didi Ndombe. The home side’s task was made harder in the second half when Troy Walters saw red for a second bookable offence, and shortly afterwards the visitors took the lead after a mix up at the back.
The lead was doubled almost immediately when Sam Merson thumped home at the far post.
