Whitby wallop Mallock for four

WHITBY TOWN are into the league’s top ten for the first time this term, after earning a stunning heavy home win over promotion-chasing Matlock.
The Gladiators are now six points off the play-off spots, having started slowly in cold conditions.
Whitby’s ex-Preston striker Connor Simpson tested goalkeeper Saul Deeney, but the hosts broke the deadlock on 27 minutes.
Simpson fed Joe Wheatley and the on-loan Spennymoor Town midfielder smashed high past Deeney from 16 yards.
