■ A MUCH-improved per- from 1874 was formance not enough as play-off chasing Clitheroe stole the points.
1874 were the better side by a distance in the first half, making Clitheroe do a lot of work out of possession.
Harry Bower broke the deadlock with five minutes remaining in the half with a volley into the bottom corner.
1874 started the second half well and were denied by some resolute defending.
Out of nothing, a hopeful punt into the sky was flicked on by Sefton Gonzalez to Ross Dent who finished into the bottom right corner.
