■THE SCHOLARS took the lead in the 12th minute when Danny O’Callaghan slid a pass to Ben Lund who slotted beyond keeper Danny Taberner.
Jack Langston forced a fingertip save from Taberner and from the resultant corner Lund diverted home for his second after 26 minutes. In the 34th minute, the hosts extended their lead as Langston shot inside Taberner’s left-hand post.
The Lancashire side pulled one back when Sefton Gonzales flicked in a header and Clitheroe were right back in the game after 54 minutes when Jacob Hanson scored.
