■IT was more than a month since Runcorn Linnets played a league game but they picked up where they left off with a victory.
Will Saxon, on target when these teams met for an FA Cup tie in August, repeated the trick to sink Stalybridge Celtic a second time.
His curling effort on the hour, following Ryan Brooke’s touch, was placed out of goalkeeper Luke Hewitson’s reach.
