■HALTON Derby brag- rights returned to ging Widnes as they dispatched neighbours Runcorn.
They raced into an early lead when Sean Miller threaded a pass through to Jack McGowan who finished with aplomb.
But the Whites had Cameron Terry to thank moments later when his outstretched boot denied Olly Molloy.
Miller then hit the bar before Widnes eventually doubled their advantage after 28 minutes. The imperious Ste Irwin surged forward from midfield and played McGowan in to finish emphatically to record a brace.
