■ NEWCASTLE edged to their second home league win of the season against a determined Vauxhall Motors side with both sides ending the game with ten men.
The only goal of the game came in the eighth minute when Dan Cockerline slipped home a tidy finish from the inside left channel.
The Motormen came back strongly after going behind — Castle’s stopper Joe Slinn keeping out shots from Ben Holmes on two occasions in the first 20 minutes.
