WITH their closest rivals not playing, second-placed Leek grasped the chance to go top of the Northern Premier League West with a convincing home win over lowly Hednesford Town.
In a fairly even first half the home side had the better chances but it wasn’t until after the break that Stevenson was able to open the scoring with a fine individual goal after 54 minutes.
Dan Trickett-Smith, who had earlier seen his 30-yard pile- driver smack back off the bar, then lashed home after 67 minutes to make it 2-0.
