BASFORD United ended the calendar year on a high after defeating play-off hopefuls Marine at Greenwich Avenue.
Kieran Fenton’s superb free-kick just before half-time set the tone – his first goal since returning to the club in the summer – and that was added to by Nathan Tyson in the second half.
Substitute Jonathan Spittle pulled one back but it was too little, too late for Marine, who slip up in their bid to maintain pressure at the top.
