HEAVY rain was the cause of abandonment just after the hour mark at Broadhurst Park as conditions became increasingly unplayable and referee Daniel McDonald had seen enough to end the fixture.
The game began brightly for the hosts, FC United almost taking the lead in the opening minute when Aaron Bennett teed up Jordan Buckley, only to be denied by some good goalkeeping from Luke Pilling.
