Lions show their teeth in opener

GUISELEY began their league season with victory against Workington.
The match started on an equal footing with both sides having a chance each in the opening half an hour, the visitors Kai Nugent had an effort from around 18 yards out which went narrowly wide.
This was followed by Reece Kendall shooting towards goal for the hosts, which just went past the post.
Just before the break Guiseley took the lead thanks to a wonderful free-kick, Will Longbottom hit a fine effort into the top corner from just outside the area.
