■BOOTLE crushed Stalybridge Celtic, with debutant Courtney Duffus scoring twice.
Duffus got off he latter netted on his bow after just eight minutes with a fantastic finish.
Bootle remained in control and in the 22nd minute they doubled their lead when Jay Cooper headed in Sean Williams’ corner.
The visitors pulled one back via Joe Duckworth.
Duffus made it 3-1 from the spot before half-time.
Celtic scored again as Greg Wilkinson’s powerful shot found its way into the back of the net to give them renewed hope.
