Paddy Sykes gave the hosts the lead moments before the half-time whistle when Sonny Whittingham played in Connor Shanks.
He skipped away from his man before squaring it to Sykes who had a very easy tap-in.
Despite all their pressing for another goal, the Avenue couldn’t find it and Bishop equalised with 15 minutes to go when John Howard was the quickest to react to a Joe Bartliff left-wing cross into a crowd of bodies to level up proceedings.
