■ LOWLY Ossett United belied their league position to dish out a hammering to leaders Cleethorpes Town, at Ingfield.
Nearly 400 spectators witnessed Ossett race into a two-goal lead, thanks to a Joe Crosby double, capitalising on a goalkeeping error for his first, before a centre-half mix-up for his second. Ossett kept the pressure threatening the Cleethorpes goal repeatedly, through the tenacious threat of Eddie Chruch.
United extended their lead through that man, with a thunderous finish as Crosby turned provider.
