LEEK Town and Hyde United played out a draw in absolutely atrocious conditions as they battled driving wind and rain as much as each other to produce a watchable game for the hardy 402 spectators.
In a scrappy start Hyde were the first to put the ball into the net after 12 minutes when Ewan Bange finished well with a low, right-footed effort, but he had strayed offside.
That turned out to be the visitors’ only effort of the first half that Leek had the better of and they were good value for the lead that they took into the break.
