■ NEW Clitheroe manager Sean McConville had the perfect start as his side put on an impressive show to take all three points against Newcastle Town.
They took the lead when a sumptuous Veron Parny cross was headed home by Sefton Gonzales.
In the second half the pace did not relent and it was Sam Olawumi who powered home a header from a superb Jordan Wind-ass cross.
Next up was debutant Leon Creech, who topped an excellent first game with a fine run and finish.
