Hyde United manager Nick Spooner says he has support from other clubs in calling for the introduction of a six-team National League-style playoff format for the Step 3-4 divisions.
Spooner, whose team finished ninth in the NPL Premier last season, believes having six teams in the play-offs would keep the season alive for many other clubs.
His argument is that more clubs involved in the play-off picture helps maintain interest and reduces the number of dead rubbers.
