BAMBER Bridge earned a deserved opening-day victory against Guiseley.
The visitors missed out on promotion after losing in the play-off final and they were looking to score early.
Jordan Thewlis collected a pass and took a touch, but his effort had too much on it and went over the bar.
Bamber Bridge’s Michael Potts – who had a spell at Guiseley over a decade ago – forced visiting goalkeeper Joe Cracknell into a smart save.
