■ BOOTLE returned to Mersyside with all three points thanks to the efforts of striker Ben Hodkinson, who grabbed a brace at the Lyme Valley Stadium yesterday afternoon.
Played amid horrendous conditions, a through ball from Sam Hughes saw Hodkinson take a touch before finishing in style after 13 minutes of play.
Neither side found it easy in the conditions as the rain got heavier, before Hodkinson wrapped up the points from the penalty spot.
