OSSETT United edged past Newton Aycliffe with an early strike proving decisive in a hard-fought clash between two sides sitting 17th and 18th in the table.
The breakthrough came after just five minutes when Joseph Crosby pounced on a defensive error and calmly rolled the ball past Kyle Seymour to put Ossett in front. The hosts nearly doubled their lead after 35 minutes, but Jack Crook’s effort struck the post after a sharp counterattack.
