CLINICAL Cleethorpes Town cruised to victory in their first ever encounter with Ashton United courtesy of two goals in each half at Hurst Cross.
The opening goal arrived after 18 minutes. Callum Ainley won a free-kick on the corner of the area which saw Nicky Walker’s delivery glanced home by centre-forward Josh Walker.
At the other end, the returning Louis White played a short corner with Alex Byrne which saw White’s delivery headed over his own bar by Jack Vann.
