■ WITTON Albion ended a five-match sequence without a win, thanks to Tom Hoyle’s first-half header which proved enough to see off Clitheroe.
The striker’s sixth league goal of the campaign, glanced in off the far upright from Aaron Fleming’s free-kick, arrived in first-half’s final minutes.
The Northwich side had chances ahead of the front man’s decisive intervention, and Clith-eroe’s stand-in goalkeeper Josh Brooks saved smartly to deny Hoyle from scoring.
