■ ST NEOTS fell to their fifth odd-goal defeat in their last seven matches.
Basford moved up to third in the table thanks to a 52nd minute goal poached by Louis Czerwak after his side had seen an effort cancelled out by then offside flag two minutes earlier.
It was a tightly fought match and St Neots had created and missed first-half chances for Kieran Barnes and Sam Wills but the nearest they came to scoring was when visiting keeper Matthew Yatea saved well from Neo Richard-Noel.
