A HARD-FOUGHT encounter on a cold East coast was ultimately deservedly won by the hosts.
Goals from Brad Abbott and Billy Whitehouse out Cleethorpes in charge before Keelan Leslie quickly pulled one back for struggling Workington.
Town started by far the best and nearly opened the scoring in the 14th minute. Topscorer Josh Walker rose highest but his glancing header flashed just over the crossbar.
