■ CONSETT made it an unhappy new year for struggling Bishop Auckland, leaving them in the bottom three.
The Steelmen had survived a sixth-minute scare from a free-kick before Ben Ramsey fired home from the edge of the box.
Another Bishop set-piece led to Consett doubling their advantage.
A corner was cleared and Isaac Walker went half the length of the pitch before beating Charles Pocklington.
A curler from Donny Holdsworth was just too high and a Ramsey shot was well saved by Pocklington as Consett looked to extend their lead.
