Owls and Robins fail to take off in stalemate

AFTER surviving an early pitch inspection on the East coast, mid-table sides Cleethorpes Town and Ilkeston Town played out a generally disappointing stalemate on a heavy surface.
Before an expectant crowd, the goalmouth action in the first period was strictly limited, with only one save required by the goalkeepers.
In the best of the action, Ilkeston’s Rooney Youmbi was denied by a smart stop from Cleethorpes keeper Ollie Battersby, who spread himself superbly well at the near post to block the ball with his feet.
