■ NEWTON Aycliffe picked up a valuable three points after a strong second half performance at Ossett.
It was the home side who took the early advantage. In the 14th minute, good work on the right resulted in a shot by Jack Degruchy, which deflected in. Aycliffe responded well though with Andrew Nelson causing problems for the Ossett defence. And his efforts were rewarded just before the half hour with a run into the box before slotting the ball home.
